Homeownership Program

Habitat for Humanity is a homeownership program that empowers families to build a new life for themselves through the stability and security of owning their own home. Habitat homes are not given away, but are sold to families who qualify, are willing to put in hundreds of hours of labor (called Partnership Hours), and are able to make a monthly mortgage payment. Habitat homes are affordable because Habitat does not make a profit; homes are sold with a no-interest loan, and are built mostly by volunteers. Selected families are partners in every sense of the word. They contribute between 300-500 hours of labor building their own home and the homes of other Habitat families. Homebuyers also participate in classes to prepare them for homeownership.

Home Repairs Program

Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity (Habitat) is excited to launch a new program to serve families and individuals in need and to encourage strong communities. The Home Repairs Program will address accessibility and safety concerns in homes owned by low-income families and elderly residents of Ada and Canyon Counties. The program will initially launch through the construction of permanent accessibility ramps to qualified individuals and continue to expand services and activities to enable elderly individuals to remain in their affordable homes and avoid displacement.
