Groundbreaking Ceremony

Habitat Home Number 74

Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity is about to begin construction of another home in Meridian at 3407 South Arno Avenue in the Tradewinds subdivision located at the corner of Locust Grove and Victory.

On October 16th at 10:00 AM an official groundbreaking ceremony will take place. Participants will include Tom Lay, Executive Director, Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity; the Honorable Tammy de Weerd, Mayor of Meridian; Debbie Vincent, President Board of Trustees, Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity; Scott Madison, EVP & General Manager of Intermountain Gas Company; Greg Allen, Principal, Hummel Architects; and Poe Htoo and Mi Mya Aye, the future owners of this house.

Upon completion of this home it will be open to the public to preview during the weekends of April 27 through May 12. Model Home Furnishings of Eagle is donating a houseful of furniture to Treasure Valley Habitat for Humanity and as such this home will be completely staged for its open houses.

Hummel Architects has designed the home to meet ENERGY STAR certifications and it will also receive a Home Energy Rating Score (HERS). These two certifications will maximize affordability for the home owner by improving home energy operation up to 30% and will qualify for Intermountain Gas WHOLE HOME energy efficiency program.

Immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony, which is open to the public, there will be a reception at 1636 Fathom Street - just down street.
